Tower of David

Jesus in the Lap of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Why Mary called "Tower of David"?

We know that Jesus the son of Mary is a descendant of King David. Pero and sumunod na mga hari sa hanay ni David ay hindi na matitino (David was also committed sin).
But God promised this kingdom will be perfected

baSa!

1 Chronicles 17:12-14 (New International Version)

12 He is the one who will build a house for me, and I will establish his throne forever. 13 I will be his father, and he will be my son. I will never take my love away from him, as I took it away from your predecessor. 14 I will set him over my house and my kingdom forever; his throne will be established forever.' "

Dahil ang mga successor ni David ay hindi matitino it means the kingdom is not perfect

Sino ang mag-peperfect sa Kingdom ni David???

saGot: walang ibA kundi si Jesus...

Si JeSus bah talga?

Sagot: YES... here's the evidence...

basA!

Matthew 1:1-20 (New International Version)

Matthew 1
The Genealogy of Jesus
1A record of the genealogy of Jesus Christ the son of David, the son of Abraham:
2Abraham was the father of Isaac,
Isaac the father of Jacob,
Jacob the father of Judah and his brothers,
3Judah the father of Perez and Zerah, whose mother was Tamar,
Perez the father of Hezron,
Hezron the father of Ram,
4Ram the father of Amminadab,
Amminadab the father of Nahshon,
Nahshon the father of Salmon,
5Salmon the father of Boaz, whose mother was Rahab,
Boaz the father of Obed, whose mother was Ruth,
Obed the father of Jesse,
6and Jesse the father of King David.
David was the father of Solomon, whose mother had been Uriah's wife,
7Solomon the father of Rehoboam,
Rehoboam the father of Abijah,
Abijah the father of Asa,
8Asa the father of Jehoshaphat,
Jehoshaphat the father of Jehoram,
Jehoram the father of Uzziah,
9Uzziah the father of Jotham,
Jotham the father of Ahaz,
Ahaz the father of Hezekiah,
10Hezekiah the father of Manasseh,
Manasseh the father of Amon,
Amon the father of Josiah,
11and Josiah the father of Jeconiah[a] and his brothers at the time of the exile to Babylon.
12After the exile to Babylon:
Jeconiah was the father of Shealtiel,
Shealtiel the father of Zerubbabel,
13Zerubbabel the father of Abiud,
Abiud the father of Eliakim,
Eliakim the father of Azor,
14Azor the father of Zadok,
Zadok the father of Akim,
Akim the father of Eliud,
15Eliud the father of Eleazar,
Eleazar the father of Matthan,
Matthan the father of Jacob,
16and Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.

17Thus there were fourteen generations in all from Abraham to David, fourteen from David to the exile to Babylon, and fourteen from the exile to the Christ.[b]
The Birth of Jesus Christ
18This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit.

Luke 1:32 (New International Version)

32He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David,

See? Jesus the Son of the most High then Jesus is GOD! and we all know that God is perfect.

Dahil ginawang perfect and kaharian ni David through Jesus but this cannot be done without the "FIAT" of Mary

We all know that Jesus is KING....

When he (Jesus) took flesh from Mary (without Mary Jesus couldn't have a flesh)

So this King (Jesus) tumahan sa isang babae (womb of Mary)... Therefore the king was in the womb of Mary

That's why we call Mary tower of David because she bore the King of kings in her womb. We know that the King has kingdom. right?

And every Kingdom has palaces...and palaces has its towers..dbah?

What's the function of its towers???

Just like our own mother nung tayo ay nasa sinapupunan pa nila ay nag-iingat talaga sila pra hindi tayo malaglag (o makunan)...dahil ang gawain o function ng isang tower ay to take care (to announce or to warn) the kingdom.

This kingdom is the Body of Christ according to St. Paul

basA!

Ephesians 5:23 (New International Version)

23For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior.

and this kingdom (church) will not be perish or will destroy...

Matthew 16:18 (New International Version)

18And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.

Bakit hindi na ito mawala o will be overcome by the gates of hell??

Sagot: Because this kingdom is already perfected by Christ

Tower of David is one of the titles given to Mary... not literally Mary is a tower but she is the tower of her Son when Jesus still in her womb.

Immaculate Conception

Saint Anne conceiving the Virgin Mary
Douai, Musée de la Chartreuse

What do we mean by the Immaculate Conception?
  • From the Latin word "Immacula" means "without any stain".

  • This Doctrine states that from the very beginning of her origin, Mother Mary was previledged to be out of "original sin" or it's "stain".

  • Mary was "preserved" from original sin from the first instant of her conception. (Compendium of the Catechism of the Catholic Church#96; see also CCC#487-492,508)

Biblical Basis of Immaculate Conception (Old Testament)

  • The first book of the Bible that is "Genesis", after the fall of Adam and Eve; God mentions another "woman" that her offspring will strike or crushed the head of the serpent (Satan)

Let us read Genesis 3:15

Genesis 3:15 (New International Version)

15 And I will put enmity between you (Serpent) and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel."

  • Here, it is clear that God was speaking about the "Savior", whom He plans to send, and that savior was none other than "Jesus". The woman who is mentioned in that passage is "Mary" because "the Savior" our Lord Jesus, is her offspring..

  • In Gen.3:15 talks about the word "Enmity". Let us read our dictionary what the said word means.

'Dictionary.com'
en⋅mi⋅ty  /ˈɛnmɪti/
Show Spelled Pronunciation [en-mi-tee] Show IPA
Use enmity in a Sentence

noun, plural -ties. a feeling or condition of hostility; hatred; ill will; animosity; antagonism.

  • If God put enmity between the woman and the serpent this means that Mary is "free from original sin" because she is the Mother of the Savior.

  • If we believe that Jesus is God and we all know that God is Perfect(Mat.5:48) and there's nothing stain of sin in Him, it is rightfully that Mary is also "free from original sin" because she bears in her womb the "Holy of Holies"

In the Old Testament, God placed his presence on the Ark. The Ark was made up of pure gold.

Let us read Exodus 25:11-21

Exodus 25:11-21 (King James Version)

11And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold, within and without shalt thou overlay it, and shalt make upon it a crown of gold round about.
12And thou shalt cast four rings of gold for it, and put them in the four corners thereof; and two rings shall be in the one side of it, and two rings in the other side of it.
13And thou shalt make staves of shittim wood, and overlay them with gold.
14And thou shalt put the staves into the rings by the sides of the ark, that the ark may be borne with them.
15The staves shall be in the rings of the ark: they shall not be taken from it.
16And thou shalt put into the ark the testimony which I shall give thee.
17And thou shalt make a mercy seat of pure gold: two cubits and a half shall be the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof.
18And thou shalt make two cherubims of gold, of beaten work shalt thou make them, in the two ends of the mercy seat.
19And make one cherub on the one end, and the other cherub on the other end: even of the mercy seat shall ye make the cherubims on the two ends thereof.
20And the cherubims shall stretch forth their wings on high, covering the mercy seat with their wings, and their faces shall look one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubims be.
21And thou shalt put the mercy seat above upon the ark; and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee.

  • If the Ark is pure because the Lord of Host DWELLED in it... Then, Mary is also pure!

What will happen if someone will touch or hold the Ark in UNWORTHY manner?

Let us read 2 Samuel 6:7

2 Samuel 6:7 (King James Version)

7And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God.

  • The Ark of God is Holy and Pure. This shows that the Ark is "UNDEFILED", this also shows that defiled people are NOT WORTHY to touch or to hold the Ark of God UNWORHTILY.

If the Ark of God is UNDEFILED, therefore Mary is also UNDEFILED so that she would become WORHTY to bear the "Son of the Most High." (Lk.1:35)

Biblical Basis of Immaculate Conception (New Testament)

Is there a Biblical evidence that Mary is Immaculate in the New Testament?

Yes!. When Angel Gabriel greeted or salutes Mary at the annunciation...

Let us read the Gospel of Luke 1:28

Luke 1:28 Douay-Rheims
28 And the angel being come in, said unto her: Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

  • The word "Full of Grace" is used only twice in the Bible and this refers to Jesus in the Gospel of John 1:14 and Mary in the Gospel of Luke 1:28

Let us read the Gospel of John 1:14

John 1:14 (King James Version)

14And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

  • The original greek word that being used in Luke 1:28 is "Chaire Kecharitomene"

The Angel Gabriel, addressing the Virgin of Nazareth after the greeting, chaire, "Rejoice", calls her Kecharitomene, "full of grace". The words of the Greek text, chaire and Kecharitomene, are deeply interconnected: Mary is invited to rejoice primarily because God loves her and has filled her with grace in view of her divine motherhood! (Pope John Paul II, General Audience May 8, 1996)

Kecharitomene: this term addressed to Mary seems to be the proper way to describe the woman destined to become the mother of Jesus. Lumen gentium appropriately recalls this when it affirms: "The Virgin of Nazareth is hailed by the heralding angel, by divine command, as 'full of grace'" (Lumen gentium, n. 56).

  • The said verse above (Lk.1:28) proves that Mary is conceived without original sin because she is full of grace.
  • Even St. Paul wrote to the Romans 3:23 that "All have sinned and fall short of God." Mary is EXEMPTED because God preserves her to be pure and worthy to bear the Son of God our Lord Jesus.

If Mary is NOT EXEMPTED from the original sin , Jesus our Savior is also a sinner!.

Let me quote what Martin Luther said about Immacualte Conception:

"The infusion of Mary's soul was effected without original sin...from the first moment she began to live she was free from all sin." (Martin Luther, Sermon: On the Day of the Conception of the Mother of God)

ABA, GINOONG MARIA!

"Out of respect for the Word of God from which it is addressed by millions of Filipinos day and night, we should rid the prayer of erroneous and superfluous words which add nothing to its meaning or beauty but only serve to distract those who reflect on its verbal content."2

Puna ng The Knight of the Immaculata sa nasabing mungkahi:

"The national language of the Philippines is Filipino. As it evolves, it shall be further developed and enriched on the basis of existing Philippine and other languages."7

THE CATHOLIC 'CRIME' OF CALLING PRIESTS 'FATHER'

Pope Benedict XVI; Elevation of the Body of Christ

By: Fr. Abe P. Arganiosa, CRS

Mt 23: 8–10 …Call no man your father…

If this passage was meant to be taken literally, then we all offend the Scripture. We all have used “father” to designate our birth father; and we refer to as “teacher,” our instructors at school. On the other hand, the meaning of the scripture is that no person should be given the respect and honor exclusive to God the Father.

* If we will follow the reasoning of the Anti-Catholics it means that the Protestants, Born Again, Iglesia ni Cristo, ADD who put the name of their biological parent in 'Father' on Birth Certificates and School records will go to hell because they have committed abominable crime against the Lord. They called someone 'father'! [What will they call their male parent then? Well, they can call them 'Dogs' if they want.] I'm not referring to them as dogs; I simply show the absurdity of their position.

BIBLICAL REASONS FOR CALLING VARIOUS PEOPLE ‘FATHER’

If the Protestant interpretation of Mt 23:9 is to be followed the entire GODHEAD SHALL BE DESTROYED!

1. THE FATHER ALMIGHTY Himself will be dishonored because He called people ‘father’. GOD THE FATHER IS GUILTY OF THE CATHOLIC CRIME.

Gen 12:1 He asked Abram to leave his father’s house.

Gen 17:5 He made Abraham father of many nations.

Gen 28:13 He called Abraham father of Jacob.

Ex 3:6 …I am the God of thy FATHER…

Ex 3:16 …say…The LORD God of your FATHERS…

Ex 20:12 HONOUR THY FATHER and thy mother… (Also, Dt 5:16)

Ex 22:17 If her FATHER utterly refuse to give her…

Ex 22:22 Ye shall not afflict any widow, or FATHERless.

Ex 40:15 …anoint them, as thou didst their FATHER…

Lev 18 Yahweh used ‘father’ for people 9 times.

Lev 19:3 Ye shall fear every man his… FATHER…

Num 12:16 If her (Miriam) FATHER had but spit in her face… (also in Num 13:2)

Jer 7: 7, 14, 18, 22, 25-26 Yahweh called people ‘fathers’ 6 times.

Jer 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their FATHERS in the day that I took them by the hand… [Heb 8:9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their FATHERS in the day I took them by the hand to lead them out of the Land of Egypt…]

Ezek 36:28 And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your FATHERS; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.

2. JESUS TOO WILL BE GUILTY OF THE CATHOLIC CRIME; He is violating His own word.

Mt 10:21 And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the FATHER the child…

Mt 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his FATHER…

Mt 10:37 He that loveth FATHER or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

Mt 19:29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or FATHER…for my name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

Lk 12:53 The FATHER shall be divided against the son, and the son against the FATHER…

Lk 14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his FATHER, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren…he cannot be my disciple.

Lk 16:24 [Jesus narrating ‘The Rich Man and Lazarus’] And he cried and said, FATHER Abraham, have mercy on me… (See also v. 27 & 30)

Lk 18:20 HONOUR THY FATHER and thy mother.

Jn 6:58 This is the bread which came down from heaven: not as your FATHERS did eat manna, and are dead…

3. THE HOLY SPIRIT SHALL BE GUILTY TOO OF THE CRIME because people prophesied by His inspiration and called people ‘father’.

(a) Lk 1: 67 Zechariah was FILLED with the HOLY SPIRIT and later he said:

Lk 1:72-73 ‘To perform the mercy promised to OUR FATHERS, and to remember his holy covenant. The oath which he sware to OUR FATHER Abraham.

(b) Acts 7: 55 referred to St. Stephen as ‘full of the Holy Spirit’ and yet he called people in that same chapter ‘FATHER’ a record of 18 times. If calling people ‘father’ is wrong it presupposed that the Paraclete misled the proto-martyr.

(c) Since the Letter to the Hebrews bear no human authorship the full responsibility goes to the Holy Spirit who inspired it.

Heb 1:1 God who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the FATHERS by the prophets…

Heb 3:9 When your FATHERS tempted me, proved me, and saw my works for forty years.

Heb 7:3 [Melchizedek] Without FATHER, without mother…

Heb 7:10 For he [Levi] was yet in the loins of his FATHER, when Melchizedek met him [Abraham].

Heb 12:7 …for what son is he whom the FATHER chasteneth not?

Heb 12:9 Furthermore we have had FATHERS of our flesh which corrected us…

4. JACOB IS GUILTY

Gen 28:21 So that I come again to my FATHER’s house in peace… [KJV]

Gen 49:2, 4, 25, 28 Jacob spoke the word ‘father’ or ‘fathers’ for people 5 times.

5. JOSEPH THE DREAMER IS ALSO GUILTY

Gen 50:5 My FATHER made me swear…Now therefore let me go, I pray thee [pharaoh], and bury my FATHER…

6. THE BENEVOLENT PHARAOH [Master of Joseph the Dreamer] IS GUILTY

Gen 50:6 And Pharaoh said, Go up, and bury thy FATHER…

7. MOSES IS GUILTY

Gen 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his FATHER and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife…[Moses, by tradition, is the human author of the book of Genesis] See also Gen 4: 20-21/ 9: 18, 22-23/ 50: 1, 8, 14-15, 22.

Dt 4:1 …go in and possess the land which the Lord God of your FATHERS giveth you.

Dt 5:3 The Lord made not this covenant with OUR FATHERS, but with us…

Dt 8:1 …and go in and possess the land which the LORD sware unto your FATHERS.

See also Dt 6: 3, 10, 18, 23/ 7: 8, 12-13/ 8: 3/ 10: 11, 15/ 33: 9

9. KING DAVID IS GUILTY

1 Sam 24:11 Moreover, my FATHER [he was talking to King Saul], see, yea, see the skirt of thy robe in my hand… Jewish Tradition ascribed the Book of Psalms to King David then this statement could be attributed to him under Divine Inspiration: (a) Ps 22:4 (b) Ps 27:10 (c) Ps 44:1 (d) Ps 45:10,16 (e) Ps 49:19 (f) Ps 68:5 (g) Ps 78:3,5,12,57 (h) Ps 95:9 (i) Ps 103:13 (j) Ps 106:6-7 (k) Ps 110:9,14

10. KING SOLOMON IS GUILTY

2 Chron 6:4,7-8,10,15-16 Solomon delivered this ‘sacrilegious’ speech during the completion of the Temple. Imagine he called David ‘my father’ 6 times. 2 Chron 6:25,31,38 Solomon called other people ‘fathers’ 3 times. N.B.: In 2 Chron 7:1 the Sacred Scripture states that Yahweh responded with FIRE FROM HEAVEN , but not out of anger in order to kill Solomon for calling people ‘father’ right inside the sacred Temple. Instead, the fire consumed the offerings as a sign of divine acceptance. Moreover, the glory of the Lord (Shekinah) filled the house. If Solomon committed a sin against the Holy Name of Yahweh by calling others as ‘father’ why did God accept his sacrifice? See Prov 1: 8/ 4: 1,3/ 13:1/ 17:6,21/ 19:13-14,26

11. KING JOSHAPAT IS GUILTY

Jn 4:20 OUR FATHERS worshipped in this mountain…

31. ANANIAS [the man sent by God to baptized Paul] IS GUILTY

Acts 22:14 And he said, The God of OUR FATHERS… • Catholic Christians call the priests “father” with the sense understood by St. Paul. 1 Cor 4:14–16 I am writing you this not to shame you, but to admonish you as my beloved children. Even if you should have countless guides to Christ, yet YOU DO NOT HAVE MANY FATHERS, for I became your FATHER in Christ Jesus through the gospel. Therefore, I urge you, be imitators of me. [NAB]

ON CALLING THE POPE ‘HOLY FATHER’

Is 22:21,23-24 …he [Eliakim, the keeper of the key] shall be a FATHER to the inhabitants of Jerusalem…and he shall be for a glorious throne to his FATHER’s house…And they shall hang upon him all the glory of his FATHER’s house.

Bear in mind that The Book of Isaiah is a prophetic book. It is particularly a prophesy concerning the coming of the Messiah and His Kingdom. The above chapter (Is 22) if will be read completely will lead us to Mt 16: 18-19.

Like Eliakim, St. Peter received from Jesus the Keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, thus making him the Prime Minister of the Kingdom with the power to bind and to loose above any other with the exception of the King Himself.

One of the title given to the Holder of the Keys is that he shall be called FATHER. The Pope, as successor of Peter, is called HOLY FATHER... With the adjective ‘Holy’ because he is the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Heaven not just of the Davidic kingdom.

BASED ON THE NUMEROUS PASSAGES PRESENTED ABOVE THESE CLASSES OF PEOPLE CAN BE CALLED ‘FATHER’:

• Biological Father • Patriarchs • Ancestors • Kings (as David did to Saul, 1 Sam 24:11, Isaiah 49:23) • Government Leaders (e.g., Eliakim, the Royal Steward – Is 22: 21, 23-24) • PETER & his SUCCESSORS (The Keeper of the Keys) Mt16: 18-19 & Is 22: 21, 23-24 • APOSTLES & BISHOPS (1 Cor 4:14–16/ 1 Cor 4:14–16/ Phil 2:22) • PRESBYTERS AND PRIESTS (Judges 17:9-10/ 1 Tim 5:1)

N.B. The Catholic word ‘priest’ was a shortened version of the Presbyter. The Merriam-Webster Dictionary provides the etymology [ME preist, fr. OE preost, ultim. fr. LL presbyter elder, priest, fr. Gk presbyteros, fr. compar. of presbys old man, elder].

WELL, WELL, WELL! THE BIBLE IS VERY CATHOLIC, ISN’T IT? BECAUSE IT IS A CATHOLIC BOOK! IF YOU WILL FOLLOW THE PROTESTANT AND BORN-AGAIN INTERPRETATION THE SACRED SCRIPTURES THEMSELVES SHALL LOOSE THEIR DIVINE INSPIRATION. SIMPLY STATED THEIR POSITION IS ABSURD, ILLOGICAL AND UNBIBLICAL!

Catholics Worship Images???

St.Francis praying before a crucifix by El Greco

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Messenger wrote on Tue, 29 September 2009 23:40

The Christian veneration of images is not contrary to the first commandment which proscribes idols. Indeed, "the honor rendered to an image passes to its prototype," and "whoever venerates an image venerates the person portrayed in it."70 The honor paid to sacred images is a "respectful veneration," not the adoration due to God alone: (Catechism of the Catholic Church #2132)

Joshua 7:6

6 Then Joshua tore his clothes and fell facedown to the ground before the ark of the LORD, remaining there till evening. The elders of Israel did the same, and sprinkled dust on their heads.

At siguro alam mo na yaong pag-luhod o pag-bow - shows "RESPECT". Lalo na sa ibang bansa.

Ikalawang punto:
Sinabi mo na:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

2 Sam. 6:1-51 David again assembled all the picked men of Israel, thirty thousand in number.
2 Then David and all the people who were with him set out for Baala of Judah to bring up from there the ark of God, which bears the name of the LORD of hosts enthroned above the cherubim.
3 The ark of God was placed on a new cart and taken away from the house of Abinadab on the hill. Uzzah and Ahio, sons of Abinadab, guided the cart,4 with Ahio walking before it,
5 while David and all the Israelites made merry before the LORD with all their strength, with singing and with citharas, harps, tambourines, sistrums and cymbals.

People who worship Ball

1 Corinthians 8:4

4So then, about eating food sacrificed to idols: We know that an idol is nothing at all in the world and that there is no God but one.

Tulad sa nakasulat sa taas; the ark of God, which bears the name of the LORD of hosts enthroned above the cherubim.

Ave Maria!
